Gov. Andrew Cuomo's hour-long meeting last week with President Donald Trump went beyond the discussions surrounding the federal government barring New Yorkers from trusted traveler programs.

Cuomo on Sunday in an AM 970 radio interview with businessman and political donor John Catsimatidis said the meeting covered a range of topics: The $10,000 cap on state and local tax deductions as well as major construction projects like overhauling LaGuardia Airport and the push for funding the Gateway tunnel plan.

The comments were the first public description of the meeting Cuomo has given since it was held last week beyond a public statement that was issued.

"Look, I said to the President if you help us with one of these projects which Is a federal project and it's good for the country, I'll be 100 percent cooperative," Cuomo said in the interview. "You know, I want what's good for my state. I don't care if you're Democrat or Republican, if you're short, tall. Let's work and get things done. That's what the game is all about."

Cuomo emerged from the White House meeting without any agreements in place -- other than to keep talking about resolving the situation surrounding the trusted traveler freeze.

"We met for about an hour. It was - you know, we're both from New York - so it was a candid, frank conversation," he said. "I think the President really understood the situation and when he said he'd get back to me next week, that was a reasonable position. It's a somewhat complicated issue and he had to talk to his people, so we'll see what he says next week."
