Members of the state's largest public workers union on Thursday handed Mary Sullivan a full term as the labor group's president.

The Civil Service Employees Association re-elected Sullivan, who had been serving on an interim basis after the retirement of longtime leader Danny Donohue.

“I am grateful our members put their faith in me and our leadership team to continue our challenging work ahead,” said Sullivan, the first woman to lead the union.

“We will keep bringing workers together to fight for our piece of the American Dream, and to build a stronger and more inclusive union that delivers better working conditions for our members, and better public services for all of New York.”
Sullivan's term begins March 1 and runs through February 2024.
