Republican House candidate Chele Farley on Wednesday was endorsed by New York GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy.

Farley, a former U.S. Senate candidate, is running for the seat held by Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.

“The voters of NY-18 want a leader who will put their interests over Washington politics, and they will get that with Chele Farley," Langworthy said. "She’s a businesswoman, an engineer and she knows how to solve problems. She has my full support and electing her to Congress is a critical part of our plan to win back the House and ensure that Nancy Pelosi never gets the gavel again.”

The district in previous years has been considered a swing seat for either party in the Hudson Valley. Maloney was first elected in 2012.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Chairman Langworthy,” Farley said. “Nick has brought an energy and fighting spirit that is helping to bring commonsense voters together who reject the radical, socialist Democrat policies. As President Trump said, our country is experiencing the ‘Great American Comeback’ and we must elect leaders who will continue building on our progress, not obstructing it. I will go to Washington laser-focused on delivering results for the people of the Hudson Valley.”
