The county-level Conservative Party committees in the 18th congressional district on Thursday announced they will back Republican Chele Farley for the House seat.

"Chele Farley will make an excellent standard bearer for the Conservative Party," said New York State Conservative Party Chair Gerard Kassar.  "A common sense conservative with a wealth of private sector experience and a heart for public service, the residents of the congressional district will do well in electing her to Congress."

Farley is running against Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney in the Hudson Valley district that has been a battleground district in previous cycles.

"I'm deeply honored to be the Conservative Party's candidate for Congress," she said.  "I want to thank State Chairman Jerry Kassar and each county chair and committee for their support and their principled leadership."

The district is composed of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam and Westchester counties.
