Democratic House candidate Jackie Gordon on Tuesday was named to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's Red to Blue program — a distinction meant that shows she's hit goals for support, organizing and fundraising.

Gordon is running for the district on Long Island being vacated by Republican Rep. Peter King, a seat Democrats have eyed in recent election cycles as a potential pickup.

Gordon is retired lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve and a former Babylon town board member.

“Jackie’s record of service is clear in everything she does: whether serving our nation overseas as a combat veteran or serving Long Islanders here at home as a Councilwoman for Babylon Township and an educator in New York Public Schools," said DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos. "No one will work harder to flip this district than Jackie. She is ready to win and be an independent voice on behalf of Long Island in Congress.”
