LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Gas prices in the commonwealth are dipping down. According to the AAA East Central’s Gas Price report, prices are five cents lower this week compared to last week in west central Kentucky, at $2.73.

AAA said as spring approaches, refineries will switch to producing summer blend fuel. This can mean higher gas prices down the road.

Here are the average prices for a gallon of unleaded self-service gasoline in different parts of the state:

  • $2.73 Bowling Green 
  • $2.66 Elizabethtown 
  • $2.88 Louisville 
  • $2.62 Owensboro 
  • $2.77 Paducah

AAA says the average price during the week of Feb. 10 was $2.78 per gallon.

According to the Energy Information Administration, gasoline demand increased from 8.32 million barrels per day last week to 8.57 this week. Total domestic gasoline supply is down from 251.1 million barrels to 248.1.

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline is at $3.16. That’s five cents more than a month ago, but 12 cents less than a year ago.
