People from all across upstate New York made the trip to our nation's capital for Monday's inauguration.
A group of students from Le Moyne College reached out to Senator Chuck Schumer and were able to secure their tickets to the historic event.
Liam O'Connor, a LeMoyne college student, is the chairman of the Onondaga County Young Republicans and has experience beyond his years in the political arena. This will be his first attending an inauguration.
He says above all, he's hoping President Trump's speech accomplishes one thing.
"I'm hoping to see bringing the country together toward a common goal," says O'Connor. "There's a lot of things we need to work on together and we're only going to do that as Americans. Not as Republicans or Democrats."
There is also going to be a contingent of onlookers from the 22nd Congressional District. They won tickets as part of a lottery giveaway held by Congressman John Mannion (NY-22).
