Even before taking office, President Donald Trump announced that he would be taking multiple executive actions to address the issue of immigration, which has been a main pillar of all three of his presidential runs.

On Monday, during his inaugural address, he repeated some of those promises, including an end to birthright citizenship, and his intention to declare the border a "national emergency."

There were also reports that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection program “CBP One Mobile,” which allowed migrants to schedule appointments at border ports and present asylum claims, had been canceled.

For more on what this means for the immigrant community in New York, Capital Tonight spoke with the Director of the Immigration Law Clinic at Albany Law School, Lauren DesRosiers.

DesRosiers recommended several resources to Capital Tonight for people with questions about their immigration status.
