A majority of New York voters believe Mayor Eric Adams should resign from office, according to a new poll from The New York Times and Siena College.
The question came following the mayor's indictment on bribery and corruption charges last month.
The poll found 53% of registered voters think Adams should step down, while 40% favor him serving out the remaining 14 months of his term.
Just 26% of voters said they approved of the job he was doing as mayor.
In a hypothetical mayoral primary next year, registered Democrats put Adams in third place behind former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
In a similar poll done by Marist College earlier this month, 69% of those surveyed said Adams should resign.
