Democrats in New York’s competitive U.S. House races built on their cash advantage in the third quarter of this year. They outraised their GOP rivals in all of the key contests.

With one exception, those Democrats also each reported having more cash on hand at the end of September, just in time for the final stretch of campaigning.

The most recent filings covered fundraising and spending between July 1 and Sept. 30.

New York’s slate of battleground seats could help determine control of the U.S. House. Republicans flipped several of the seats in 2022, helping pave the way to a slim House majority. This year, Democrats are targeting the seats as pickup opportunities as they look to win back control of the chamber.

A cash advantage does not mean a particular candidate will win, but it does give them more resources to run ads and conduct voter outreach. Outside groups are also pouring money into the contests.
