Former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has applied to the U.S. Supreme Court for an emergency injunction to restore his name on the ballot in New York in the general election in November.
The request comes from Kennedy’s campaign committee as well as the super PAC American Values 2024.
Kennedy dropped out of the race for president in August and endorsed former President Donald Trump, though he has engaged in legal battles across the country to have his name removed and remain on the ballot depending on the state.
New York’s highest court – the state Court of Appeals – earlier this month upheld a state judge’s ruling disqualifying Kennedy’s ballot access for listing what she deemed was a sham residence on his designating petitions as an independent candidate.
Kennedy was polling at 0% among New York voters, according to the latest Siena College poll conducted after he suspended his campaign. In the last poll prior to dropping out, he polled at less than 1% in New York.
