Rochester Mayor Malik Evans pledged his support to President Joe Biden following a virtual meeting on Tuesday.

The president met with more than 200 Democratic mayors across the country about the 2024 election and his plans to stay in the race.

Evans says legislation passed under Biden, including the American Rescue Plan Act, has helped cities across the country and in Rochester.

"The president was clear-eyed about the future and clearly articulated his vision to the mayors in attendance," said Evans. "President Biden's support for the nation’s cities can not be understated and I look forward to continuing to support him."

Biden has been under growing pressure from some in his party to step aside and not run for re-election following his performance during his first debate with former President Donald Trump last month.
