New York state Assemblyman Harry Bronson, a Democrat from Rochester, will be the next chair of the Assembly Labor Committee, Speaker Carl Heastie announced Monday.
Bronson will take over for Latoya Joyner, who resigned from the state Legislature suddenly to pursue a different professional opportunity.
Bronson was most recently chairing the Assembly Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry Committee. That will now be chaired by Syracuse-area Assemblyman Al Stirpe.
Taking over for Stirpe as chair of the Small Business Committee will be the Capital Region’s Carrie Woerner, and taking over for Woerner as chair of the Libraries and Education Committee will be Capital Region Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara.
