Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says this will be the last time he runs for his position.

Poloncarz, who is currently on the ballot for the upcoming November election, said he thought this current term would be his last. However, he says his plans have changed due to recent tragedies in the community.

"A lot of the major things I thought I was going to be able to accomplish in my third term have to get put on the back burner, including the Bills stadium," said Poloncarz. "We started negotiations, I talked with Kim Pegula in 2019 about that. That had to get all pushed back. Our work at the Renaissance Commerce Park, our work on Livewell Erie."

Poloncarz first took office in 2012. He is currently running against Republican Chrissy Casilio.
