In advance of Wednesday night’s Republican presidential debate, Stefan Mychajliw joined Capital Tonight host Susan Arbetter from Milwaukee to discuss the campaign of businessman Vivek Ramaswamy. Mychajliw, a former Erie County comptroller, serves as Ramaswamy’s deputy comms director.

According to the latest Siena College poll released Tuesday, 64% of Republican voters in New York would vote for Donald Trump if the election were today. Of the balance of GOP voters who would pull the lever for someone else, 24% would vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and 17% would vote for Vivek Ramaswamy.

Mychajliw recalled that when he met Ramaswamy in January, the candidate was polling at 0%, but his outsider status appears to be resonating with Republican voters.

“He will be right in the middle of the debate stage tomorrow night along with Ron DeSantis,” Mychajliw said.
