U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney has tested positive for COVID-19, the congressman announced in a statement Tuesday.

“This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19. While I am experiencing minor cold-like symptoms, I’m grateful to be fully vaccinated and boosted, which is protecting me from more severe illness," Maloney said in a statement.

The Hudson Valley lawmaker said he will isolate while recovering and will conduct his work remotely.

“My sincere thanks to all the frontline health care workers who have been working throughout the pandemic to keep us safe," he said. "Please go get your vaccine and booster if you have not yet. It is the best thing we can do to protect ourselves and our communities.”

Seveal members of New York's congressional delegation have tested positive for the coronavirus in the last week, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and John Katko.
