Presumptive Rochester Mayor Malik Evans is running unopposed on Tuesday, though his name will appear on both the Democratic and the Working Families Party lines on the ballot.
Capital Tonight spoke with Evans about the quirks of a transition from Mayor Lovely Warren, who will step down from office on Dec. 1 to an interim mayor to Evans in January. He was also asked about how he will work with the City Council.
“I’ve met with all the City Council members regularly," Evans told Capital Tonight. "We’ve got two new ones coming, but we’ve got seven that will remain. I kind of understand their priorities and what is important to them, so that will definitely inform how we approach them, how we approach governance."
