Both the chair of the New York state Senate Finance Committee, Sen. Liz Krueger, and the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen.  Brad Hoylman, spoke with Capital Tonight about news that a criminal summons has been issued for former Gov. Andrew Cuomo to appear in Albany City Court on Nov. 17 at 2:30pm.

The former governor has been charged with a misdemeanor — “forcible touching."

“He was simultaneously breaking the (sexual harassment) laws that he tried to get passed. It’s the height of hypocrisy,” Hoylman told Capital Tonight. “It makes my blood boil.”

Like the former governor, both Krueger and Hoylman are Democrats.

When asked if she thinks Cuomo might seek higher office in spite of his legal trouble, Krueger said yes.

“I’m very concerned that he does intend to run again, and I think it’s totally the wrong thing, and the wrong thing for the people of New York state,” Krueger said.
