There will be no tolerance if wrongdoing among members of the New York State Police's Protective Services Unit is found, Gov. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday told reporters.

Hochul, in Johnson City, was responding to the State Police's confirmed investigation into troopers who provide security for the governor.

"We are very much investigaitng this. This has to be uncovered, every element of it," she said. "There's a few individuals involved. There is no tolerance, everyone who has abused the public trust, abused these positions, will have consequences. But this investigation is just begining."

The investigation stems from whether State Police troopers on the security detail filed fraudulent hours in order to earn more pay.

The investigation was first reported by The New York Post

A probe into the Protective Services Unit also comes as the FBI is reportedly investigating the New York State Troopers' PBA amid allegations of financial wrongdoing, according to the Times Union.
