Democratic state Sen. John Mannion is set to be endorsed for re-election on Monday by the New York State Troopers PBA, his campaign said.

Mannion is running for re-election in the Syracuse-area 50th Senate district.

“To have the support of the brave men and women who serve in the New York State Police is truly humbling," Mannion said. "State Troopers protect our communities and I’ll continue to be a strong voice in Albany for its members and for public safety. I’ll always make sure the police have the tools, policies, and resources to safely do their jobs. Our momentum is growing every day and we are building a broad coalition of supporters who all agree: John Mannion always fights for Central New York and he always has your back."

Mannion's endorsement from the PBA comes as the State Fair on Monday will hold its Law Enforcement Day. Mannion is set to join state Attorney General Letitia James at the Fallen Heroes Ceremony.

“John Mannion has been instrumental in fighting for legislation to support police officers," said Thomas Mungeer, the president of the Troopers PBA. "He has brought a voice of moderation to the Senate Majority and was crucial in the passage of our family leave legislation.”
