New York's top court on Tuesday denied a motion by former President Donald Trump and his family company to avoid testifying in the civil investigation being conducted by state Attorney General Letitia James' office.

A federal court filing earlier this month revealed Trump and his daughter, Ivanka Trump, as well as Donald Trump Jr., were to conditionally testify in the investigation on July 15.

A parallel effort to avoid giving testimony in the case was being conducted in the state courts.

The court determined "no substantial constitutional question is directly involved" in the effort to avoid testiftying in the case. James' office is investigating whether Trump's company inflated the value of its real estate holdings.
