Hillary Clinton will deliver the keynote address at the state Democratic convention this week in New York City, party officials on Monday confirmed.

The convention, scheduled for Thursday, will include the party conferring preferred candidate status for governor, attorney general, state comptroller and U.S. Senate.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, the first woman to serve as governor of New York, is expected to secure the lion's share of delegates at the convention as she runs for a full term.

Clinton, the former secretary of state and U.S. senator from New York who was the party's 2016 nominee for president, also spoke at the New York Democratic convention in 2018.

Hochul, who took office in August, has hired multiple aides who have worked for Clinton over the years.
