Rep. Tom Suozzi's re-election campaign reported raising more than $1 million in the last three months, and is set to hold $3.1 million in cash on hand.

Suozzi, a Long Island Democrat, is among several potential candidates for governor next year in what could turn into a crowded June primary field.

“The people of New York have faced many difficult challenges in the last few years and the level of enthusiastic support shown to Congressman Suozzi demonstrates that people know and appreciate how relentlessly he works to solve the problems they face,” said Kim Devlin, Suozzi’s senior advisor.

Suozzi held a fundraiser earlier this month that was headlined by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. And he campaigned in Buffalo with incumbent Mayor Byron Brown, who is waging a write-in bid after losing his Democratic primary to India Walton.

Meanwhile, Suozzi has been a lead proponent of lifting a $10,000 cap on state and local tax deductions as part of a major social safety spending bill in Congress.

“Fighting for New York to receive critical federal resources and funding during COVID, writing legislation to recognize the Harlem Hellfighters with a long overdue Congressional Gold Medal, getting a constituent’s wife and children out of Afghanistan, and beating a constant drum on Capitol Hill to get a SALT cap repeal are just a few of the reasons Congressman Suozzi has garnered his decades-long reputation as someone who gets things done," Devlin said.
