Metropolitan Transportation Authority Senior Advisor Ken Lovett is leaving his post later this month for the consulting firm Ichor Strategies.

Lovett will lead the firm's public sector division with a focus on infrastructure and health care issues.

“Our work at Ichor is uniquely focused on creating impactful community strategies for the companies we work with, and that begins with our people. I’m excited to have someone with Ken’s breadth of experience in the public sector, as both an advisor and a journalist, joining our team,” said Eric Eve, the firm's founder and CEO.

Lovett is a former reporter with the New York Post and later the bureau chief for The Daily News covering the state Capitol. Prior to the MTA, Lovett worked at Metropolitan Public Strategies. He has served as a senior advisor at the MTA since 2019.

"I am proud of my tenure at the MTA during one the most challenging times in its history, and now look forward to working with Eric Eve and the talented staff at Ichor Strategies to help government and institutions better engage with their communities,” Lovett said. “After spending three decades as a reporter writing about inequities, I am excited for the opportunity to have an even more direct hand in addressing those issues."

Lovett's final day with the MTA is Oct. 20 and he starts with Ichor on Oct. 25.
