Democratic state Sen. James Skoufis is set to announce having raised more than $400,000 for his re-election bid over the last six months, according to his campaign.
Skoufis, a lawmaker who represents a district in the Hudson Valley, was first elected in 2018 to what had been a battleground district.
His campaign is also set to report having $725,000 in cash on hand, a sharp increase from two years ago when he reported $321,000 in the bank.
Democrats in the state Senate next year are seeking to maintain their supermajority in the chamber after initially winning it in 2020. Skoufis represents a district won by former President Donald Trump, only one of three Democrats in the chamber to do so.
