Longtime state Senate communications aide Gary Ginsburg is taking a new role as the Democratic conference on Monday is set to announce a series of staff changes. 

Ginsburg, who has worked as the Democratic conference's deputy press secretary, press secretary, and deputy communications director for the last nine years will become the new director of Senate Services. 

Stepping into his role is Jonathan Heppner, who has held various communications roles in the conference. He previously worked as a communications director for Sen. Terry Gipson and was a staffer for President Obama's re-election campaign in Virginia in 2012. 

Georgina Parsons will become the conference's new press secretary. She has served in the communications office since 2013. She has previously worked for several non-profit organizations in the Capital Region, including Girls Inc. and Trinity Alliance.
