Democratic House candidate Jackie Gordon on Tuesday will announce having raised nearly $800,000 to bring her cash-on-hand total to more than $1.1 million.

Gordon is running for the Long Island House seat being vacated by Republican Rep. Peter King. Democrats have long eyed the seat as a potential pickup opportunity.

Gordon, a retired lieutenant colonel and former Babylon town board member, won her Democratic primary last month.

“I am proud to have the support of so many Long Islanders who are stepping up to contribute their time and hard-earned dollars to support our campaign,” she said.

“Voters want to see a change in Washington. They want a representative who will fight to expand access to healthcare, take care of our veterans, and support our small businesses. Together, we are building a grassroots, people-powered campaign that will deliver for Long Island.”

She is set to face Republican Assemblyman Andrew Garbarino in the November general election.
