Good morning! It's Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and most government offices will be closed. But a number of events honoring the civil rights leader are being held around New York.

Here's what's happening today:

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is in Albany with nothing public planned. 

At 9 a.m., Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will deliver remarks at the New Hope Baptist Church Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast, Buffalo Convention Center, 153 Franklin Avenue, Buffalo. 

At 10 a.m., New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams will speak at Staten Island Justice Center Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 'Committed to Census' Day of Service, 1254 Castleton Ave, Staten Island.

At 11:15 a.m., Public Advocate Williams will speak at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Annual Brooklyn Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn.

Also at 11:15 a.m., Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and the City of Albany Commission on Human Rights will join local elected officials, community leaders, and residents for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community March and Wreath Laying. Empire State Plaza Concourse. Madison Avenue entrance, Albany. 

At 12:15 p.m., New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and  First Lady Chirlane McCray will deliver remarks. BAM Howard Gilman Opera House – Peter Jay Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn. 

At 12:30 p.m., Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will address Lackawanna’s Second Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, Second Baptist Church, 18 Church Street, Lackawanna. 

Also at 12:30 p.m., Public Advocate Williams will speak at the 122nd Baptist Ministers Conference Annual Commemoration and Celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 420 W 145th St, New York City.

At 1:30 p.m., Mayor de Blasio will deliver remarks. House of Justice, 106 W 145 Street, Harlem. 

At 7 p.m., Mayor de Blasio will appear on NY1's Inside City Hall.
