State grants totaling $60 million will help 10 new housing and infrastructure projects take off across the Hudson Valley, Gov. Kathy Hochul said.
Hochul announced a second round of Mid-Hudson Momentum Fund awards Friday in Yonkers.
Projects served by the funding will lead to more than 8,000 new units of housing, 25% of which will be considered affordable, in Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties, Hochul said.
Some of the project recipients this year include:
• $10 million for Kiryas Joel Water Treatment Facility Implementation Project in Orange County
• $10 million for Town of Ramapo water and sewer upgrades
• $4.2 million for redevelopment of the Shaw Building in Orange County
• $2.5 million for infrastructure improvements to support Monticello Manor Lofts in Sullivan County
• $2.5 million to convert the former Quality Inn hotel in Ulster County
The Mid-Hudson Momentum Fund is responsible for $127 million for projects over two rounds, the governor’s office said.
The grants will leverage $627 million in total public-private investment, Hochul said.
"From securing clean water in Orange County to revitalizing downtown Mount Vernon, these strategic investments demonstrate our ongoing partnerships with Pro-Housing Communities that actively support growth and economic opportunity,” Hochul said.
