New York State Education Commissioner Betty Rosa has had a challenging few weeks.

She’s been criticized for a pay raise and has fielded some negative press for the lackluster state of the New York State Museum, which is under her purview.

But her primary focus right now is defending New York’s schools from possible Trump administration cuts.

Capital Tonight spoke with Rosa about all three of these topics, including how she’ll respond if the federal government leverages education money for policy changes.
