Every year, Congress must pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which sets out policies and funding for the U.S. Department of Defense. The legislation, which typically enjoys bipartisan support, has become contentious.
Included in the House Republicans NDAA proposal was policy changes that would end the Pentagon’s ability to reimburse service members who have to travel out of the state or area they are in to get abortion or reproductive health care.
