It’s been almost a week since President Donald Trump signed his sweeping tax and spending cuts bill into law.

While Trump and Republican lawmakers are taking a victory lap this week, House Democrats are sounding an alarm.

They are warning about the major cuts included in the bill toward food assistance and insurance coverage for millions of Americans.

Rep. Gregory Meeks, a ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to discuss more.

He represents parts of southeast Queens, including the neighborhoods of Jamaica, Hillside and Far Rockaway. Meeks is also the leaders of the Queens Democratic organization.
