Early voting kicked off this weekend to a record turnout.
More than 140,000 people voted on the first day, which beats the first day in 2020 by nearly 50,000 votes.
It also marks the highest number of voters on the first day of early voting since the state began allowing it.
According to the Board of Elections, as of Sunday night, Brooklyn is now leading with the most votes at 77,000, with Manhattan and Queens not far behind. Staten Island had the lowest, with 23,000 votes.
But it wasn’t just in the city where polling locations saw long lines.
Across the state, there was good turnout — including in highly contentious battleground districts where U.S. House seats are up for grabs.
Jasmine Gripper and Ana María Archila, co-directors of the Working Families Party, an influential third party, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss more.
