Congressman Adriano Espaillat’s office in Washington Heights was vandalized early Tuesday morning.
Police say two people damaged the exterior of the building and threw red paint. The vandalism appears to be connected to the ongoing Israel-Hamas War.
The investigation is ongoing and being handled by the NYPD’s hate crimes task force.
Rep. Espaillat’s district includes parts of the Bronx and Upper Manhattan, as well as Randall’s Island — where the city announced Wednesday it will be closing an emergency migrant shelter.
Rep. Espaillat joined “Inside City Hall” Wednesday night to discuss the city’s announcement and the latest on the vandalism to his office.
