Gov. Kathy Hochul said the state will have to consider cutting back spending on the migrant influx as the situation becomes “unsustainable.”

Meanwhile, a memo from the state Division of the Budget said the state should limit its assistance to providing legal services and case management instead of hotel stays.

The DOB reports the state will spend nearly $2 billion on the influx of migrants by April.

These costs include the state’s 12-month lease of the federally owned Floyd Bennett Field, which is set to become a migrant shelter.

The migrant population in the city continues to grow, with the city struggling to find space for all those entering its shelter system.

State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss the state’s spending.
