On the one-year anniversary of her ascension to New York's highest office, Gov. Kathy Hochul sat down with Capital Tonight host Susan Arbetter, who questioned her on a wide-range of topics including her pandemic powers, and the upcoming COVID review she has requested.
Hochul is also a candidate running for a full term as governor against Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin. With Republicans hammering her on her prolific fundraising and what some see as the appearance of pay-to-play under her watch, Arbetter asked Hochul about the allegations, to which she stated defiantly, "I always play by the rules."
Other topics Hochul discussed included crime, the new ethics commission, the vacancy on the Court of Appeals, the state budget and the historical significance of her role.
