The COVID-19 pandemic is leading to an increase in mental health problems among children.

Issues including depression and anxiety, and even suicide are being seen among children as young as 5 years old – and adults are simply not equipped to handle it. 

More than that, the state is not answering the need for greater child mental health services during COVID-19.

Dr. Jennifer Havens, a child and adolescent psychiatrist at NYU Langone Health, vice chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health, and a professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry spoke with Capital Tonight host Susan Arbetter about the issue.
