State Senator James Skoufis is raising concerns over Amazon's application for property tax breaks on a proposed new facility in Wawayanda.
He says the Orange County Industrial Development Agency is considering the company's application.
If approved, Skoufis says it would allow Amazon to avoid paying more than $100 million in property taxes.
According to the economic impact study on the project, it would create more than 2,400 jobs but Skoufis contends most of them would be at or around minimum wage.
Amazon responded saying the facility's jobs will start around $18 an hour. They also cite an independent analysis that the facility would generate more than $1 billion for the local economy over the next 20 years.
The IDA's public hearing on this is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Minisink Valley Middle School.
