Mark Grisanti, a judge on the New York Court of Claims who is also an acting justice of the state Supreme Court, will not be removed from the bench following a confrontation between Buffalo officers back in 2020.

The state Commission on Judicial Conduct recommended in a 6-4 vote that Grisanti be censured.

This vote comes down four years after a parking dispute outside Grisanti's home was caught on Buffalo Police body cameras.

During the incident, police appeared to try and handcuff Grisanti's wife, Maria, but she allegedly tried to get away.

That is when Mark Grisanti appeared to have pushed an officer. Grisanti allegedly repeats multiple times that his daughter and son-in-law are police officers and “if you don't get the cuffs officer, you're going to have a problem.”

Later body camera video appears to show Grisanti in the back of the police car being allowed to have a phone call with who Law 360 identified as his cousin, who is a Buffalo police detective.

Criminal charges were never filed in the incident.

Grisanti's attorney, Terry Connors, said "today's decision concludes that, on balance, Justice Grisanti's conduct during a two-hour period of one day, compared to his excellent record as a judge, does not warrant removal from the bench."
